Fostering independence and connection

Our Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) program, funded by the Department of Home Affairs, helps individuals from humanitarian and eligible permanent migrants and their communities build capacity and independence, improve social participation, personal and economic wellbeing, and increased community connectedness. We empower our clients to connect to services and support to build their confidence, enabling them to thrive. We provide intake, triage services, community engagement, and one-on-one support delivered by staff with the knowledge, experience and cultural capability to work with clients in ways that make them feel supported and safe in Queensland.

We offer several bespoke services to create meaningful connections and feel a greater sense of belonging through groups and programs for community leaders, young people, adults, and families, help clients become part of communities and interest groups that builds social capital, increases knowledge and fosters independence.

The program operates in Brisbane, Central Queensland, Darling Downs, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay, Queensland Outback, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville*, and Wide Bay.

*Multicultural Australia operates in Townsville, and we subcontract a part of Townsville coordination to our partners Townsville Multicultural Support Group (TMSG). Find out more about TMSG here: https://www.tmsg.org.au/programs

We who have come from many places acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land which always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island land. We pay our respects to their Elders throughout all time. We walk together in solidarity of the pain of the past and the shared hope for the future.
