About this gathering

Representatives from multicultural, refugee, and faith communities have the opportunity to join our Community Leaders Gathering (CLG) which meets to connect and share information that helps build the capacity of the communities we serve.

The monthly Community Leaders Gathering also serves as an advisory body for government agencies and social services groups on matters relating to settlement, housing, and services relevant to new and emerging communities in Queensland.

Who Join

Who can join?

Membership is free and open to all leaders and representatives of communities with a refugee or humanitarian entrant experience.

Participation at the CLG is voluntary. Community groups and organisations may nominate representatives to attend.

The Community Leader Gatherings are held in collaboration with QPASTT (Queensland Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma).

When are meetings held?

Meetings are held monthly, usually on the last Wednesday of every month, with the exception of December, January and Ramadan.

We who have come from many places acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land which always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island land. We pay our respects to their Elders throughout all time. We walk together in solidarity of the pain of the past and the shared hope for the future.
