Multicultural Australia is the contracted service provider to deliver refugee settlement services in Queensland under the Commonwealth’s Humanitarian Settlement Program.

In addition to our work with refugees and asylum seekers, we offer a range of programs, services and support for all newly arrived Queenslanders, their families, employers and communities. To find out more about the services we offer and how you can access them, click on any of the options below.

Connecting Through Sport

The Connecting Through Sport (CTS) program is a two-year initiative supported federally through the Department of Health.  The program aims to introduce refugee and migrant families to a range of sporting opportunities within their local area to ensure prosperous and harmonious communities within Queensland.   PLUS the program aims to develop the capacity of community clubs, each club in the CTS program will receive Cultural Awareness training and a Diversity Inclusion Action plan ably supported by Welcoming Australia.

Youth Services

Young migrants often need extra support to help them feel welcome in their new home. We have a range of services specifically for children and teenagers, including events and programs like the Migrant Youth Vision Project that provides opportunities for young migrants to be involved in local education, training and sport programs. We also support international students to navigate the experience of living in Queensland through our Brisbane Student Hub and associated services.

Acknowledgement of country
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of all the lands on which we meet, work and live and recognise that this land has always been and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.

Multicultural Australia respects and values Australia’s First Nation peoples’ enormous resilience, courage, determination and often unrecognized contributions to this country’s social and economic development. We walk together in solidarity in the shared pain of the past and with shared hope for the future.
