National Child Protection Week 2021

This week is National Child Protection Week 2021. National Child Protection Week is an opportunity to raise the profile on all issues connected with abuse prevention, treatment, research, education and service provision.

The theme for this year is:

Every child, in every community, needs a fair go. To treat all of Australia’s children fairly, we need to make sure every family and community has what kids need to thrive and be healthy.

In recognition of Multicultural Australia’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, particularly those from refugee, migrant and asylum seeker backgrounds, we have pledged the following:

“To firmly uphold the safety and voice of children and young people by ensuring our frameworks are embedded”.  Visit NAPCAN to find out more about our pledge https://www.napcan.org.au/pledge-m-r/

Multicultural Australia respects and values Australia’s First Nation peoples’ enormous resilience, courage, determination and often unrecognized contributions to this country’s social and economic development. We walk together in solidarity in the shared pain of the past and with shared hope for the future.
