Enabling an Inclusive Aged Care Workforce

Enabling an Inclusive Aged Care Workforce is a government funded grant as apart of the Queensland Care Consortium initiative from Jobs Queensland.

Multicultural Australia’s project – Enabling an Inclusive Aged Care Workforce will support the Health and Community Services Sector to attract, develop and retain skilled staff.

The project aims to foster a safer and more inclusive environment within the aged care sector for CALD employees and enhance cultural capability in selected aged care facilities in Brisbane’s South East, creating welcome, belonging, and safety for employees. This involves extensive outreach and collaboration to engage both jobseekers (the mentees) and experienced professionals as mentors. The initial stages involved scoping the target audience, consultation, recruitment, screening, and shortlisting CALD participants that aspire to work in the aged care industry and professional staff in aged care organisations to be mentors.

We who have come from many places acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land which always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island land. We pay our respects to their Elders throughout all time. We walk together in solidarity of the pain of the past and the shared hope for the future.
