Get ready to light up Gold Coast!

For the second time, Luminous in the Regions returns to the Gold Coast, and we are excited to invite communities to be part of this festival, in which we celebrate our cultural diversity.

One of the key elements of this parade is that our community illuminates the sky with the spectacular handmade lanterns they crafted. We will be hosting workshops to create these lanterns. If your community is interested in participating or presenting a cultural performance, please email MCCGC Community Development team member, Maria Camila, at camilas@mccgc.org.au.

If you want to become a food vendor, please fill out this form with your expression of interest. Click here

This parade fosters welcoming spaces and a sense of belonging for new Queenslanders. It promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with magnificent lanterns, live music, and performances from around the world.

The event is organised by Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast and supported by Multicultural Australia, Multicultural Affairs Qld, SBS Audio SBS Australia and the City of Gold Coast.

Multicultural Australia acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet today.
As the world’s oldest living cultures, we recognise that Australia always has been and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.
We who come from many places pay our respects to Elders throughout all time and commit to learning from the knowledge, traditions, stories, spirituality, and experiences of Aboriginal people as we learn to live on their land.
We walk together in solidarity of the pain of the past, and in shared hope for the future.
