Accessibility Information at LUMINOUS Lantern Parade

We’re proud to partner with Carers Queensland, our Inclusion Partner, to help create an event that’s welcoming and accessible for everyone.

Accessible Viewing Area

An accessible viewing area will be available at Riverside Green. The area includes a hard-standing surface, space for multiple wheelchairs and some benches and provides a clear view of the parade route and the stage.

The area is located close to the South Bank Piazza – please check our event map for the exact location. Our friendly volunteer team at the Volunteer Hub, located at the Piazza Box Office and can also assist with directions.

The Area will be signed and is accessible via the footpath.

Accessible restrooms are available close by at the Riverside Terrace (MLAK key required) and South Bank Piazza.

Lighting

LUMINOUS is an evening event. South Bank has public area lighting, but please be aware that some areas along the route may be darker than usual, especially around crowds. If you have difficulty with low lighting, please consider bringing a torch to assist you getting around safely.

Our event venue: South Bank

Multicultural Australia acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet today.
As the world’s oldest living cultures, we recognise that Australia always has been and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.
We who come from many places pay our respects to Elders throughout all time and commit to learning from the knowledge, traditions, stories, spirituality, and experiences of Aboriginal people as we learn to live on their land.
We walk together in solidarity of the pain of the past, and in shared hope for the future.
