Australia is a fast changing, culturally and linguistically diverse nation. Nearly half of Australians are first or second generation Australian, either born overseas themselves or with one or both parents born overseas. One in five Australians speak a language other than English at home (ABS, 2016).

Building the capabilities to leverage diversity takes awareness, curiosity, courage and practice. In this interactive workshop you will have the chance to level up your cultural capability. Come along to this full day training ready to share your insights and reflections with likeminded Queenslanders, keen to create welcoming and inclusive communities and workplaces.

This workshop aims to increase participants’ awareness of:

  • Australia’s existing diversity and the business case for diversity;
  • the cultural lens and values that all people bring to interactions;
  • the cultural dimensions and practices that make a difference to workplace communication and collaboration; and,
  • practical skills, strategies and tools to engage with colleagues and clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Who should attend?

Anyone from front line workers to team leaders and community members. You will walk away with key takeaways and practical strategies you can immediately implement in your professional and personal life.
