The Giant Kookaburra visits schools, markets, events and nursing homes to cheer people up with her laughter.
The Giant Kookaburra's mission is to help people to regain their natural joy and care free laughter.
We also hope that the lessons we provide through our workshops will make a positive change in their lives.
The Giant Kookaburra provides the following services:
- Presenting arts and craft, mindfulness and anxiety management workshops in schools
- Attracting public participation/tourism to markets
- Providing entertainment at events
The Giant Kookaburra was created and built by Dr Farvardin Daliri OAM, Executive Director of the Townsville Intercultural Centre and founder of the Townsville Cultural Fest, in a Brisbane backyard during the height of the COVID-19 lock down.
It gained international media coverage including CNN, the New York Times, USA Today, BuzzFeed, as well as locally in Australia on ABC, The Guardian, Nine and many more.
Farvardin has been awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his lifetime of service to the community development sector and for initiating projects and programs for a more cohesive and harmonious society.
