Small Business and Social Enterprise Forum

The Small Business and Social Enterprise Forum aims to discuss initiatives to address the needs of small businesses and social enterprises owned and/or run by Queenslanders from refugee and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

In particular we will be discussing both the challenges and opportunities for business and social enterprise in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister Shannon Fentiman will  address the Forum about the Queensland economic outlook more broadly, and the Government plans for creating job opportunities and supporting social enterprises and social benefit businesses.

There  will also  be information from Federal Government representatives about changes in Jobkeeper and from Universities and organisations working in social enterprise and social procurement.

Our Community Leaders and Local  Entrepreneurs will also be sharing their experiences of both their start up stories and their experiences through COVID 19.

Please join us for the forum and let us know if you would like to pose a question to the speakers by emailing

The Small Business and Social Enterprise Forum is presented by the COVID-19 Working Group, Community Leaders, QPASTT and Multicultural Australia.

Acknowledgement of country
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of all the lands on which we meet, work and live and recognise that this land has always been and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.

Multicultural Australia respects and values Australia’s First Nation peoples’ enormous resilience, courage, determination and often unrecognized contributions to this country’s social and economic development. We walk together in solidarity in the shared pain of the past and with shared hope for the future.
