What you can expect from this role:

  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic workforce plan and lead the vision for a strategically targeted suite of HR, IR and ER strategies, programs and initiatives that reflect contemporary best practice, 
  2. Proactively monitor professional HR trends across a variety of sectors including private and public sector initiatives and business developments to identify opportunities for implementation. 
  3. Work with Executive and senior leaders to champion and assist with implementing change and work closely with Subject Matter Experts and all key stakeholders, to integrate new responsibilities and ways of working into the 'business as usual' environment.
  4. Provide expert advice and information to the Board, CEO and Executive Leadership Team on key HR issues and practices that may impact on the organisation.
  5. Collect, interpret and communicate data and metrics to support business decisions and to measure the impact of workforce investments on business performance.
  6. Plan and deliver clear, concise, timely and relevant information/communications. 
  7. Foster an environment that values performance, inclusive work practices, continuous improvement and positive culture, where team members enjoy coming to work, are appropriately skilled and challenged and understand the contribution their role plays in the success of business outcomes. 
  8. Participate as a member of the Leadership Team in setting and delivering on the long-term strategic direction of Multicultural Australia.
  9. Prepare and have oversight of high-level submissions, reports, papers, statements, briefings and correspondence on complex HR issues. 
  10. Provide leadership for the implementation of work health & safety systems.
  11. Ensure WHS and risk management compliance with relevant legislation and contractual obligations, in collaboration with the Quality and Risk Manager.

What do we need from you:

  1. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a human resource leadership role.
  2. Possession of tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or Business Management with a focus on HR.
  3. Proven experience in developing and implementing organisational HR strategy.
  4. Proven experience across a broad range of contemporary HR initiatives including employment lifecycle management, performance, culture and safety.
  5. Knowledge of employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements and their application in the workplace.
  6. Proven experience in the provision of expert advice on strategic workforce management, with a particular focus on engagement, diversity and inclusion, talent management and leadership capability.
  7. Ability to positively build effective, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, drive engagement, motivate staff and influence culture.
  8. Proven experience in implementing a new HRIS system.
  9. Experience in leading and motivating a team to deliver consistent and high-quality HR services.
  10. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of WHS frameworks, policies, strategies and procedures that support compliance and quality improvement.
  11. National Police Clearance Check.
  12. Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
