Multicultural Australia recognises that many LGBTIQ+ people flee their country of origin due to facing discrimination, persecution, and violence, and that they unfortunately often continue to experience stigma in their countries of refuge.

Our work:

Multicultural Australia welcomes and supports LGBTIQ+ people. We have implemented several initiatives to ensure the inclusion and safety of our LGBTIQ+ clients, staff, and communities, including refreshing our policies and procedures to ensure our LGBTIQ+ staff and clients are included and supported, updating our intake processes, and ensuring that all staff receive appropriate training and development opportunities around LGBTIQ+ inclusion. Language and attitudes that are discriminatory towards LGBTIQ+ people are not tolerated within our organisation.

Affirmation of the Darlington Statement:

LGBTIQ+ Working Group:

Multicultural Australia’s LGBTIQ+ Working Group coordinates an ongoing organisation-wide journey towards welcoming and inclusion of LGBTIQ+ clients, staff, and community in our workplace and the services and programs we provide.
