Finance Assistant – Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable- Brisbane

Full Time – Ongoing

The Finance team leads and coordinates the organisation’s statutory and management reporting obligations through financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and internal control systems and processes. We support Executive Management, Senior Management, Programs and the organisation by adding value in key strategic decision-making and in keeping fit for the future.

What you can expect from this role:

Check, code, allocate and process all Accounts Payables supplier invoices accurately in a timely manner in the Finance System (TechOne) ensuring approval processes are followed.
Resolve vendor queries and reconcile supplier invoices to vendor statements (as required).
Process, code and allocate direct debit invoices and payments off the bank account.
Maintain recurring payments schedules and payment runs in relation to housing etc.
Process client payments and upload supporting documentation into government portal to ensure that Multicultural Australia is paid for the related expenses.
Prepare payment run for invoices due (end to end process including posting payment runs and remittances) following approval processes.
Review and approve credit card transactions in the expense management system.
Support and resolve credit cardholder and approvers with the expense management system queries.

What do we need from you:

Possession of tertiary qualifications in:
a. Certificate level qualifications or working towards tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, business (relevant degree advantageous but not compulsory)

2. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail and organizational skills;

3. Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements;

4. Intermediate level of Excel, Word and other Microsoft software products;

5. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation;

6. Proven ability to manage time effectively which working to deadlines with competing priorities;
