Elfaz has been in Queensland for 2 years after fleeing Ethiopia.  In this cooking demonstration he'll cook Tibs (Ethiopian Beef Stir Fry) with Brisbane's Yeronga Community Centre!

Grab the ingredients from the recipe cards below and cook along at home!

Tibs is a simple dish made from beef or lamb, seasoned with Ethiopian spice mix, red onion, garlic, rosemary, green pepper and tomato, and served with Injera.

Tibs is the kind of dish that Ethiopians prepare for outdoor festivities where people gather at the backyard to celebrate a certain occasion.

One thing Elfaz would like people to know about Ethiopian culture is that cooking is very important.  Elfaz is very proud of his culture.

REIMAGINE Virtual Events premieres these cooking demonstrations to an online audience as part of our Culture in the Kitchen program, featuring storytelling and events that enrich our understanding of the many people and cultures that call this place home.

Elfaz cooks Tibs with the Yeronga Community Centre premieres on YouTube and Facebook at 5pm on 4 November.  Subscribe to our YouTube channel for notifications or set a watch reminder through the video link below.
