Multicultural Australia exists to create a welcoming, inclusive, and economically stronger community. The Multicultural Australia team is passionate about promoting positive conversations about social and economic inclusion. Multicultural Australia delivers settlement services to refugees, migrants, international students, and people seeking asylum in Queensland while advancing a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural community including through employment, youth programs, cultural capability building, sports and arts inclusion programs.
The Development and Engagement team is responsible for leading Multicultural Australia's operations and outcomes in the areas of community and business development; engagement and regional operations (including offices in Toowoomba, Rockhampton and Townsville).  
Servicing key internal and external stakeholders, the Chief Development Officer ensures that Multicultural Australia's external and community development and engagement services are high performing, innovative, and fit for purpose, positioning the organisation for strategic success through continued growth toward a sustainable future. 
To be successful in this exciting and impactful role, you will have extensive leadership experience with demonstrated expertise and outcomes achieved across the key areas of:

  • Community and strategic business development
  • Diversity and inclusion (particularly in the NFP sector)
  • Engagement
  • Leadership of regional operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of the social service sector
  • Change and project management
  • Postgraduate tertiary qualifications in a relevant area (or significant equivalent experience)

Your leadership style will be values-led, inclusive, collaborative, and you will be a natural coach who brings a growth mindset. You will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and enjoy building strong working relationships and partnerships across a diverse audience. You will be able to articulate how you contribute to a high performing, collaborative and deeply committed executive team and how you positively impact organisation culture and engagement. Your ability to draw on lived experience of settlement for refugees and migrants to convey empathy and understanding to Multicultural Australia's clients will be well regarded. Postgraduate tertiary qualifications in a relevant area will be well regarded.
