Migrant communities continue to help Queensland’s economic and communities thrive. Migrants, refugees and international students bring important skills, entrepreneurship, innovation and international connections to our businesses and world-class universities. They settle in regional areas and help them grow. They introduce us to delicious new food and share their music, arts and traditions.

While most of us want to be welcoming and inclusive of new refugees and migrants, unfortunately discrimination based on our cultural assumptions and stereotypes does still occur as well as systemic barriers for people from non-English speaking backgrounds. But this doesn’t have to be the case.

Since 1998, Multicultural Australia has been welcoming migrants and refugees to Queensland with the goal of creating a fairer, more prosperous society for all Queenslanders.

Now we’re asking for your help.

Multicultural Australia is a non-government organisation that relies on the generosity of people across Australia to fully fund its services and programs that support more than 5000 new Queenslanders every year.

Although we receive government funding to cover the costs of our specialist service, such as the Humanitarian Settlement Program, we would not be able to continue our work to build a more welcoming and inclusive Queensland without the generous support of our individual and corporate donors.
